First Historic Models are ready for Sale

028May 21, 2017

First models of prehistoric animals – 3D printed and nicely coated/finished – manufactured according to life reconstructions from the 1850s can now be purchased by our customers.

The thoroughly reworked scans for our models were taken from table sized archetypes, which were built by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawinks taking into consideration his life sized sculptures of fossil vertebrates still visible in Crystal Palace Park, London. At the top you see a historic reconstruction of the Mesozoic amphibian Mastodonsaurus then sold under the genus name Labyrinthodon.

Our Hawinks models are available in two colour variations (Hawkins style, Éloffe style) and several sizes (SZ 1 to 3 = small, medium, large). Personal requests with regard to size and colouring of our models can be taken into account. Please call or write us.

The historic ornithischian dinosaur Iguanodon (Early Cretaceous). The reference specimen for the model may now be referable to the new genera Mantellisaurus or Mantellodon.
