Since the year 2000, the Pantone Color Institute selects every year a particular charming respectively stimulating colour as the «Colour of the Year» that corresponds to the Zeitgeist.

This is done because – after Pantone – colour «has always been an integral part of how a culture expresses the attitudes and emotions of the times».
