A Pandemic-proofed Dinosaur

Seen in the village of Frick, Canton Aargau, Switzerland: the herbivorous respectively omnivorous dinosaur Plateosaurus with mouth-nose mask.

After the Covid-19 pandemic has had a more or less firm grip on humanity already for one year accompanied by hard economic and social restrictions, jokers have taken the liberty of having a bit of fun.

In the last decades Plateosaurus has become the landmark of Frick, also nicknamed the Swiss Dinosaur Eldorado. Since 1961, numerous skeletons of this dinosaur have been recovered from the Late Triassic marls of the Frick basin, and in recent years remains of several skeletons of predatory dinosaurs from the same layers have also been found there.

The life-size model of Plateosaurus welcomes visitors at the roundabout at the entrance to Frick.
